What this site records

Reading is anonymous

You do not need an account to read anything here. Nothing on the reading surface asks you to sign in, and no article is gated.

What we store

• Your activity — which actions you take and when.
• The content you process — the posts you open and the searches you run. Do not enter anything here you would not want stored, including passwords, secrets or personal documents.
• Your network and device — your IP address, an approximate location derived from it, your browser and operating system, language, time zone, screen and window size, and similar technical details your browser exposes.
• A device identifier — a random id kept in your browser’s storage so we can recognise return visits. It is also stored in a cookie so our servers can recognise the device. It is not tied to your name and clearing your browser storage resets it.
• Page views via Vercel Web Analytics — the hosting platform records which pages are visited, referrers, and coarse device and country data. It sets no cookies and identifies a visitor only by a hash that changes daily, so it cannot follow you across days or sites.
• Not your account — telemetry is keyed to that device identifier, never to your account or email address. Because of that, deleting your account does not remove telemetry already recorded; ask for that separately (below).
• Not the text of your comments. A comment records the post it was left on and its own identifier, and never its words. What you write is stored so it can be shown on the page, and it is not copied into usage records.

How long we keep it

Stored data is retained indefinitely unless you ask us to remove it.

Requesting deletion

To have your data deleted, use the feedback button in the app (the message reaches James Argarin) and mention your device identifier if you have it. We will remove the associated records.

Accounts are shared across these apps

Registering here creates one account that also works on the other applications run from this project. That is deliberate — it is one sign-in rather than seven — but it means the address and password you choose are not specific to this site.

Deleting your account from this site removes your comments and your profile here. It does not delete the sign-in itself, because the same identity belongs to the other applications too.

Articles are written by AI

Posts are drafted by a language model and reviewed by a person before they publish. Every article says so, names the model, and lists the sources it drew on. Images are either licensed stock, credited to the photographer, or generated — and a generated image is always labelled as one.
